Get ready to unleash your inner Picasso because we're diving into the vibrant world of Arts & Crafts, the sensational event 4 of the 2024 SFK Competition, and the first event of our trimester 2 lineup!

Brought to you by the artistic wizards of the Duval College SFK Representative Team, this is your chance to shine in not one, but a whopping nine creative categories. You can practically feel the creative energy buzzing!

Here's the lowdown, each team can enter a maximum of two contenders in each of these fantastic categories:

- Photography: a black and white or colour print that has not been digitally enhanced.
- Painting: a work that uses one painting technique, for example watercolour or oils.
- Drawing: a work that uses one drawing technique, for example pencil, pastel, crayon, chalk etc.
- Craft: a work that uses one craft technique, for example stitching, woodwork, sculpture, decoupage, pottery etc.
- Digital Art: a work that has been digitally enhanced eg. Digital creations, enhanced / manipulated photography.
- Mixed Media: a work that uses more than one technique from any category.
- Short Film: a work of filmmaking that is between 30 seconds and 3 minutes in length. Pieces must include a narrative and try to showcase digital / cinematic creativity, while displaying proficiency in editing and technical ability.
- Poetry: a short poem that follows some form of poetry measure. Entries should be one page in length. Entries must be typed with a coversheet containing the title of the piece and word count. The authors name and college should not appear on the work. All pages must have the title at the top.
- Short Story: A short work of fiction, maximum 500 words. Entries must be typed with a coversheet containing the title of the piece and word count. The authors name and college should not appear on the work. All pages must have the title at the top, and if the work exceeds one (1) page in length (minus the cover page) then each page should be numbered.

Each piece must be supported by a blurb describing the work in less than 50 words.

But wait, there's a twist! No recycled masterpieces here – works must be fresh, never before seen in a creative competition, not even your HSC gems.

The deadline is crucial! Submit your masterpieces to the Bistro between 10am - 2pm on the day of the gallery viewing.
